International Conference on Cohesive Societies, Singapore 19-21 June 2019

Professor Mansouri takes part in the International Conference on Cohesive Societies held in Singapore 19-21 June 2019.

Professor Mansouri was invited to participate at the International Conference on Cohesive Societies (ICCS). The Conference drew on the diverse expertise of about 700 international delegates across academia, government, religious groups, and civil society to help shape the future of cohesive societies. The opening address was delivered by HE Halima Yacoub, President of Singapore and the keynote address was delivered by HM King Abdullah of Jordan.

Focusing on the challenges the global community is facing in relation to hate speech, violent extremism and inequalities, the Conference also issued a declaration for safeguarding religious harmony across the world. Professor Mansouri took part in thematic discussion sessions focused on social cohesion, governance of diversity and the critical role of ethical leadership.
